Jake Colvin

Jake Colvin is Vice President for Global Trade Issues at the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC), a business association whose mission is to promote an open, rules-based trading system.  At NFTC, he works with businesses and NGOs on international trade, climate change, sanctions, and business travel issues in support of the association's mission.

 Jake also manages the Cuba policy initiative of USA*Engage, a business coalition established under the Council to promote U.S. diplomacy, trade and humanitarian assistance abroad. 

He is currently also a fellow with the New Ideas Fund, for which he has recently released a report, “The Case for a New Cuba Policy.” 

Jake has written about Cuba policy for a variety of publications including the Chicago Tribune, Forbes.com, and the Miami Herald. 

Originally from Long Island, New York, he is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and the University of Richmond.
