Dwight Roberts

Born in Houston, Texas, Dwight Roberts received his bachelor’s degree in range science and agri-business from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas in 1974.  Upon graduation he moved to South America (Paraguay) to work for the grain and cattle business in the markets of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. 

Upon Returning to the United States, he served as the director for international trade at the Texas Department of Agriculture for seven years.  In 1998 he began his position as the president and CEO for the US Rice Producers Association in Houston, Texas.  Dwight speaks both Spanish and Portuguese, and he visited every country in Latin America during his lengthy career in agriculture. As a result, the US Rice Producers Association developed a strong presence throughout the Western Hemisphere under his leadership.  Dwight is married to a Paraguayan (Zully Victoria), and the couple has three children.
